Context and objectives
The "Clean Air Now for a Sharp Future" (CLEANSURE) project is part of the Erasmus+ programme and aims to contribute to environmental and climate protection through educational measures. The focus is on improving air quality and raising awareness of the importance of clean air for a sustainable future. The project is part of KA220-SCH - Partnerships for School Education and will run for 36 months, from September 2022 to August 2025.
The project is a multinational co-operation project involving schools and educational institutions from several countries, including Spain, Germany, Portugal and Italy. Partner organisations include state education authorities, primary schools, NGOs and organisations promoting sustainable mobility and environmental awareness.
The objectives of the project are
- promoting environmental awareness and sustainability, especially with regard to clean air.
- engaging students, teachers and the wider community in activities that raise awareness of the impact of air pollution.
- development and exchange of best practices in education to promote environmentally friendly behaviour.
- improving cooperation between schools in different countries in order to develop sustainable education programmes.
- strengthening the competences of teachers and pupils in the areas of environmental education and sustainable development.
The project comprises several work phases, including the management of the project, the implementation of educational activities, the improvement of pedagogical practices and the promotion of environmental measures through initiatives such as "Clean Air Now".
The participating organisations bring specific experience and skills to the project, such as the integration of digital education, the promotion of sustainable mobility and the implementation of innovative teaching methods.
The project is expected to have a positive impact on the participating schools, their teachers and pupils, as well as on the development of sustainable educational concepts that will endure beyond the project.
